Dr Aparna Dandekar

Dr Aparna Dandekar, D.O., AP Dr. Aparna Dandekar received both her Bachelor’s of Arts in Sanskrit as well as her Bachelor’s of Science in Zoology from the University of Washington, Seattle (‘96). She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA (‘02), and did her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Southern California and the Los Angeles County Medical Center (‘05).Dr. Aparna Dandekar is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and graduated from San Diego College of Ayurveda as an Ayurveda Wellness Practitioner.

Born into a family of Vedic tradition from Maharashtra, Dr. Aparna integrates the east and west to find holistic therapies for her patients. She also enjoys reading ancient Sanskrit texts, as well as literature in the Indian languages of Marathi and Hindi.

Monica Groover

Founder and Director

Monica B Groover is the founding member of Narayana Ayurveda & Yoga Academy. She is a professional Member of NAMA recognized at the Ayurvedic Doctor level of membership. Dr. Groover received her Ph.D. from India, and, has also studied extensive Ayurveda. She specialized in Bhaishajya (Herbs), and, Panchakarma Treatments. Dr. Groover is an Ayurvedic Childbirth and Post Partum Educator conducting women support workshops for prenatal, postpartum, and menopausal women in Austin, Texas. She also offers special Ayurvedic Massage Treatments.

Ms. Groover's research and articles have been published in India, as well as the U.S. Her articles have been published in Light of Ayurveda Journal, and her curriculum has been used by Universities. Ms. Groover was part of a committee for the National Ayurveda Exam Development and educational standards for Ayurvedic Practitioner in USA.

Her book, Ayurveda and the Feminine is available for purchase at Amazon. Her book, 'Essential Guide for Ayurveda Students' Part 1 is under editing and should be published soon.

Monica Groover holds the highest level membership of Ayurveda Doctor level with NAMA. She also serves in the NAMA subcommittee for Ayurveda Board Exam.

Ms. Groover has her own Ayurvedic Center in Austin. Ms. Groover has been a guest lecturer Hahn's School of Nursing, Bastyr University, Florida Vedic College, Palomar Hospital, and Radys Children Hospital conferences, as well as, Kerala Ayurveda Institute.

She Volunteers at Radha Madhav Dham, Austin as their resident Ayurvedic Practitioner.

Dr Monika Singhal

Teacher

Monika Singhal attended one of the most prestigious Medical schools in New Delhi India-All India Institute of Medical Sciences. After specializing in Dermatology, she decided not to pursue Westerm Medicine, and, instead decided to focus all of her attention to Ayurveda and holistic medicine.

Dr. Singhal completed her Ayurveda Practitioner program San Diego College of Ayurveda. She practices out of Carmel Valley, San Diego.

Atul Krishna

Technical Support, Admissions and Teacher

Henry Groover a.k.a Atul Krishna Das is the co-founders of Narayana Ayurveda & Yoga Academy. A Vedanta pundit of Vaishnava Vedic Philosophy, Samkhya Philosophy and Sanskrit, Pundit Krishnaji has translated and edited a number of ancient Sanskrit texts including Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Sri Brahma Samhita, Hitopadesh, Origin of Ratha Yatra and various Stotrams. He is helping us translate Charaka Samhita word by word from Sanskrit and giving his own commentary. Pandit Atul Krishna teaches Samkhya, Manasa, and Sanskrit for SDCOA. He teaches Ayurvedic Nutrition, Ayurvedic Philosophy, Ayurveda and the Mind as well as Ashtanga Hrdayam.

Dr Janardhana V Hebbar

Dr Janardana Hebbar, BAMS, MD(Ayurveda) Dr. Janardana Hebbar finished his Bachelors in Ayurvedic Medicine from Bapuji Ayurvedic Medical College in Karnakta. He finished his Masters and Doctorate in Ayurveda from ALN Rao Ayurveda College in Karnataka in South India. He runs the famous website easyasyurveda. He has served as an Associate professor of Ayurveda in Alva Medical College, India.

Priyanka Rajan

Teacher 

Priyanka Rajan BAMS  comes from a long line of vaidyas and Ayurvedic Physicians from Southern India. A Sanskrit and an Ayurveda scholar, she finished her Bachelors's in Ayurveda Degree from Tamil Nadu MGR Medical University.
Dr. Rajan also runs  a famous Ayurveda clinic which has been around for a century in Chennai, India. (Since 1910) They also undertake research work in Ayurvda.

Pradeepa Rayasam

Teacher 

Ms Rayasam completed both her Ayurveda Counselor and Ayurveda Practitioner program through San Diego College of Ayurveda and Narayana Ayurveda under the direct mentorship of Dr Monica Groover.
She also went and studied with Dr Vasant Lad.
Pradeepa furthered her studies in India when she immersed herself in Ayurveda internships and Panchakarma at Sharada Hospital India under Dr J.V Hebbar. In addition to Ayurveda, Ms Rayasam is a yoga teacher and a classically trained Indian Dancer.
